Oded Balilty - Biography

Oded Balilty, a photographer for the Associated Press, was born in 1979 in Jerusalem, Israel where he presently based. During his military service in the Israeli Defense Force ending in 2001, Oded learned the photographic basics and served as a photographer for the Israeli Defense Force magazine. After his service Oded went to work for the Israeli photo agency ZOOM 77 and the Israeli daily paper Yedioth Ahronot. In 2002 at the peak of the Israeli - Palestinian conflict he began working with the Associated Press in Jerusalem. During this time Oded has covered the Intifada on a daily basis as well as assignments covering the Nato Summit in Istanbul and the Ukrainian demonstrations following the November 2004 elections.
