The images of my life very often coincide with the images of my Homeland's life. It is as if our lives, by some wondrous, inexplicable magic, have been intertwined and connected forever and always. The images of my life are also the images of my Homeland's life. Sometimes they are beautiful and desirable, and sometimes they are not. Sometimes they are beautiful in a demonic way, and sometimes they are just \u201cordinarily\u201d beautiful. Those who know me and my history, and those who know my Homeland and its history \u2013 will know what I am talking about.\u00a0<\/p>

The history of my Homeland is a history of death and centuries of warfare, almost from the very beginning. Throughout the centuries, there has always been someone who has coveted this little piece of paradise in which we have lived, live, and will live for a long time yet, and for even longer, God willing. Throughout all that time of our bloody past, we have had to fight many battles. We won some of them, and lost others, but we have never lost the war for our Homeland. And we will not in the future.<\/p>

The Croatian War of Independence was a conflict fought between 1991 and 1995 as Croatia sought to secede from the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia. The war emerged from the broader disintegration of Yugoslavia, driven by rising nationalism, political instability, and competing claims over territory and sovereignty.<\/p>
